A man wanted on a first-degree murder charge from the U.S. Virgin Islands was arrested in Killeen.

On Tuesday, Killeen police detectives received information from authorities in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, that a suspect wanted there for several crimes, including murder, might be in Killeen, police said in a news release.

On Wednesday at about 10:20 a.m., Killeen detectives found the wanted person, identified as Currup Williams, 43. Williams was riding in a van and was observed traveling between locations in the downtown area of Killeen, the release said. Officers stopped the van and arrested Williams without incident. The driver of the van was arrested for an unrelated misdemeanor charge.

Williams was also wanted for assault and other charges in the Virgin Islands.
