A good neighbor helped Killeen police arrest a man suspected of burglarizing an apartment.

John Cory Williamson, 25, was charged with burglary of a habitation for allegedly breaking into an apartment in the 1000 block of North 12th Street on Tuesday and stealing video games.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Williamson on Thursday, setting his bail at $50,000.

Police learned of a burglary Tuesday after a man said he saw someone had broken the window to the apartment neighboring his, according to an arrest affidavit.

He could see a man inside walking around with video games in his hand. The neighbor then notified the man he was calling the police.

The man ran out of the apartment and the neighbor chased him. However, the burglar got away, the affidavit stated.

When police arrived, they eventually spoke to another witness who saw the foot chase. He told police he believed the burglar lived at a home neighboring the apartment complex where the burglary occurred.

Police then spotted a man later identified as Williamson who matched the description of the burglar near that home. Both the neighbor and the witness identified him as the alleged burglar.
