BELTON — A teen was arrested Sunday in connection with three vehicle burglaries, according to a Bell County Sheriff’s Department news release Monday.
Austin Kent Wagner, 17, of Nolanville, was charged with the burglaries and unlawfully carrying a weapon, the release said.
Bonds totaled $10,000, according to Bell County Jail records. A report of shots fired at 10:24 p.m. on Farm-to-Market 439 near Jamie Drive just west of Belton took deputies to the area where witnesses said they saw a man carrying what looked like two handguns.
A deputy saw a man walking along Mountain Ridge Road. The deputy took a handgun and three backpacks from a man later identified as Wagner. The deputy found prescription medication and checkbooks belonging to two men in the backpacks, according to the release.
Deputies contacted the man whose name was on the prescription. He said he had medication, sunglasses, a flashlight and money taken from his two unlocked vehicles parked in a driveway in the 1200 block of Stone Gate Trail in Belton, according to the release.
Deputies contacted residents in the 700 block of Benchmark Trail in Belton. A woman told them she was missing sunglasses and a checkbook from a vehicle that was left unlocked. A third man living in the 1200 block of Stone Gate Trail said a handgun was missing from his truck parked in his driveway. A handgun Wagner carried belonged to the man living there, according to the sheriff’s department.
