Using marked bills and tracking devices, Killeen police investigators arrested the man they believe robbed Broadway Bank on Wednesday.

Police charged Anthony Xavier Taylor, 30, with aggravated robbery in connection with the bank robbery, which occurred Wednesday afternoon at a branch location at the intersection of Fort Hood Street and Central Texas Expressway.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Taylor on Friday, setting his bond at $100,000.

Police believe Taylor covered himself head to toe in clothing, gloves, a ski mask, beanie hat and sunglasses when he allegedly entered the bank armed with a handgun.

According to an arrest affidavit, the masked suspect demanded money from three tellers. Each one put cash into the suspect’s backpack without him realizing tracking devices were among the bills, the affidavit stated.

One of the tracking devices activated shortly after the robbery on Gateway Drive. It led police to an unoccupied red Nissan pickup in the parking lot of the H-E-B on Trimmier Road, the affidavit stated.

A little less than three hours after the robbery, police encountered the truck as it drove on Trimmier. After making a traffic stop, police found a blue glove matching the gloves the suspect was seen wearing in surveillance footage.

At the city jail, police found a $20 bill with a serial number matching that of a photocopied bill placed in a teller’s drawer prior to the robbery, the affidavit stated.

I am glad they got the SOB . But why has both local TV channels have not carried this robber face on TV? .

Since I bank at that bank I would like to see them redo layout and put in Bullet proof glass that is opened a little on the bottom , yet can slide shut very quick and to install in front of the tellers a short 12 gauge shot gun that fires Salt pellets. so that when the bullet proof glass slides down it also fires the short shot guns the salt pellets will not kill but if hit by salt pellets one will wish he had been shot with lead so he or she could die quickly.
