Officials from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday released more information about a stabbing, shooting and fire that occurred at a Killeen home Monday night.
Officers found two injured men — one stabbed, another shot in the face — at a house in the 2800 block of Chaparral Road about 7:30 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, the house was partially ablaze.
A woman who lives at the residence has a restraining order against the man who was shot in the face, according to a news release from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department. The man who was stabbed was reportedly coming to the aid of the woman, the news release stated. No charges were filed.
Lt. Donnie Adams, a spokesman for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department, said Tuesday that the stabbing victim was treated and released from Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, while the male who was shot is listed in critical condition at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
The house was destroyed by the fire.
“We are still gathering facts and taking everyone’s statements,” Adams said. “We are trying to get everyone’s side of the story and find out what happened.”
Adams said all individuals involved appeared to be related, but investigators were still trying to determine their exact relationship to one another.
Adams also confirmed that officers were called to the home that night in response to a domestic disturbance.
“Deputies have been out to this location before for domestic disturbance,” Adams said. “This (disturbance) appeared to escalate into a physical incident, and we had a stabbing and shooting.”
