HARKER HEIGHTS — Police arrested two suspects in connection with a July 28 assault and shooting at a mobile home park in the 3300 block of Stillhouse Lake Road.

Police believe Genesis N. Gadson drove over 22-year-old Kevin Daryl Grinton in a white Kia, fled, and was shot at by Grinton, said Harker Heights Police Department spokesman Sgt. Roosevelt Wilson.

Grinton inadvertently shot the leg of 19-year-old Kadeja Catherine Walker, who was in the car’s vicinity.

At least one bullet also hit the car, but Gadson was not hurt.

On Thursday, Grinton turned himself into the Bell County Sheriff’s Department and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a news release stated. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke set his bond at $100,000.

“The malice nature of the act is what led to the charge,” Wilson said.

On Aug. 1, police arrested Gadson and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Cooke set her bond at $100,000.
