Killeen police identified the man found dead in his apartment Wednesday night as 32-year-old Sean William Schuman.
Police found Schuman’s body around 6 p.m. after they were told there was a man who was unconscious and not breathing inside the apartment in the 100 block of West Anderson Drive in Killeen.
Officers were told by one of Schuman’s co-workers that they were checking on him because they had not heard from him, according to a statement from the department.
The statement said Schuman was found with “trauma” to his head.
“I didn’t see or hear anything,” said one of Schuman’s neighbors, who asked not to be identified. “The police just showed up at my door and told me what happened.” Other neighbors said they knew little about Schuman and didn’t know how long he had lived there.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced Schuman dead at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday, and ordered an autopsy be conducted by the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas to determine the cause of death. The autopsy is slated to be conducted today.
