A man died of a gunshot wound Sunday after a domestic dispute was reported in the 2500 block of Wiley Drive in Killeen.

Police were dispatched to the location just before 4 p.m. on reports of a domestic dispute and shots fired. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin at 4:34 p.m., according to information released by police Sunday evening.

A 36-year old woman was in the residence and is believed to have been involved. She was taken into custody and transported to the Killeen city jail. The couple's nine-year old son was also in the residence; he was released to family members, police reported.

The name of the victim has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin and the name of the female has been withheld pending the issuance of formal charges.
