A Killeen man police said was trying to buy crack cocaine was arraigned on a drug possession charge by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown on Thursday.
Alexander Miguel Fuentes, 32, was arrested Nov. 13 by Killeen police outside of the Welcome Inn Motel. The offense is a state jail felony punishable by up to 2 years.
Police pulled over the 2009 Ford Focus that Fuentes was driving because of a faulty headlight, according to an arrest affidavit.
Fuentes pulled in and out of the Deluxe Inn, then Liberty 6 Motel and finally, the Welcome Inn before police pulled him over. Police asked Fuentes to step outside of his car, and when he did, he pulled a glass smoking pipe, according to police.
When officers read Fuentes his Miranda rights, Fuentes said he was looking for crack cocaine and told the officers that he had a crack pipe on the floor of his car, police said. Police tested the substance, which later tested positive for less than a gram of cocaine, according to police.
Fuentes was held in the Bell County Jail on $40,000 bond.
In an unrelated incident, Crystal Marie Soto was arraigned on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. She was held in the Bell County Jail on $30,000 bond.
