Police: Killeen resident shot at man

A 25-year-old Killeen man was behind bars Monday after allegedly firing a gun at another person.

Police charged Johnnie Ray Randall with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin arraigned Randall on Monday, setting his bail at $150,000.

Police arrested Randall on Saturday after receiving a report about an aggravated assault in the 300 block of Washington Street in Killeen.

When they arrived, they met with a female who told officers a man later identified as Randall had gone inside the home with a handgun. A female occupant of the home gave police permission to search the home, where they found Randall. Police also found a .380 handgun in the tank of a toilet in the home, according to an arrest affidavit.

Randall, who was injured around his left eye, said a man struck him in the face. pulled a gun on him and began firing.

While Randall was talking to police, the alleged victim arrived and told officers it was Randall who had pulled a gun on him after a verbal argument that led to the victim punching Randall in the face, the affidavit stated.

The victim told police Randall pulled a gun out and began firing, causing the victim to run away.

A man and a woman present at the altercation confirmed the victim’s account. Police also charged Randall with unlawful possession of a firearm by felon. He was convicted on April 11, 2012, of a felony charge of tampering with physical evidence.

Also arraigned on unrelated charges were the following:

Sylvia Ann Robbins, 31, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Robbins’ bail was set at $100,000.

Nathan Riley Cline, 45, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams. Cline’s bail was set at $25,000.

Ronald Ligarius Sibaja, 31, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram. Sibaja’s bail was set at $25,000.

Fred Douglas Johnson Jr., 54, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram.
