Killeen police are looking for three suspects involved in a shooting at a local hotel.

A bullet grazed a man’s head during an altercation at the Modern Inn in the 1000 block of Root Avenue just after midnight Thursday.

The man was outside his room about 12:30 a.m. when two black males and a white male attacked him, forcing the man into his room, according to Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Carroll Smith.

One of the black male suspects was armed with a handgun. He fired the gun while inside the hotel room, grazing the victim’s head, Smith said.

The three men then fled the room.

Emergency personnel took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

The suspects were unknown to the victim, and police have not determined any motive for why the shooting occurred, Smith said.

During the altercation, the shooter wore a red hooded sweatshirt. The other two suspects were wearing gray hooded sweatshirts. No further description was provided.
