A 38-year-old man is facing a felony charge after police said he assaulted a woman and threatened her with a butcher knife.

Kevin Tirrell Swafford was arraigned on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on Thursday.

According to an arrest affidavit, Killeen police responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence in the 1300 block of Willow Springs Road in Killeen.

Officers observed a woman who had multiple injuries to her face including swollen eyes, lips and knots and bruises on her forehead and cheeks.

The woman, identified as Swafford’s girlfriend, told police that he struck and kicked her multiple times, the affidavit stated.

Cooke set Swafford’s bail at $100,000.
