Police: Man had sex with teen in Heights park

A 25-year-old man is behind bars after police said he had sex with a teenager at a Harker Heights park.

Adrian Romelle Wiley was arraigned Monday on a charge of sexual assault by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke. Romelle’s bond was set at $75,000.

Romelle was arrested after a 17-year-old girl told Harker Heights police Romelle had sex with her at Carl Levin Park in April, according to an arrest affidavit.

The girl was 16 years old at the time of the alleged sexual assault. She told police Romelle was aware of her age when the incident took place, the affidavit stated,

Cooke also arraigned the following individuals on unrelated charges Monday:

Angela Marie Padgett, 34, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine in an amount of more than 1 gram, but less than 4 grams. Padgett’s bond was set at $30,000.

Israel Antonio Colon, 41, on a charge of possession of cocaine in an amount of less than 1 gram. Colon’s bond was set at $20,000.

Brenda Sandidge Paddie, 73, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine in an amount of less than 1 gram. Paddie’s bond was set at $20,000.

Franchesca Karola Sierra, 25, on a charge of possession of methamphetamine in an amount of less than 1 gram. Sierra’s bail was set at $20,000.

A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 5:40 p.m. Sunday in the 3700 block of Holbert Drive. A neighbor provided police with a description of the suspect, but no arrests were made.

A burglary of a vehicle was reported at 3:14 p.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of Amethyst Drive. The vehicle was a 2011 GMC Sierra.

A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 3300 block of Forest Hill Drive.

A burglary of a habitation with forced entry was reported at 5:01 p.m. Sunday in the 3600 block of Selena Drive.

An assault with bodily injury was reported at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3300 block of South Fort Hood Street.

Displaying a license plate assigned to another vehicle was reported at 2:34 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Cora Avenue and Godman Street.

A driving while intoxicated incident was reported at 2:37 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Debbie Drive and West Stan Schlueter Loop.

Public intoxication was reported at 3:54 a.m. Sunday in the 4800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Reckless driving was reported at 12:08 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 14th Street and Harbour Avenue.

Retaliation was reported 2:10 p.m. Sunday in the 4300 block of East Central Texas Expressway.

An assault on a public servant was reported at 2:52 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South W.S. Young Drive.

An assault with bodily injury was reported at 5:28 p.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Cantabrian Drive.

An assault with bodily injury was reported at 6:15 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Rowdy Drive.

Public intoxication was reported at 8:28 p.m. Sunday in the 4800 block of Westcliff Road.

An assault with bodily injury was reported at 9:09 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Bacon Ranch Road.

Criminal mischief was reported at 9:39 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of South 40th Street.

Copperas Cove

A theft of service was reported at 12:32 a.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of East U.S. Highway 190.
