A clerk was stabbed in an early morning convenience store robbery in Killeen, police said.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday, the Killeen Police Department received a 911 call from a 7-Eleven convenience store in the 1400 block of East Rancier Avenue. Upon arrival, police located the store clerk, who told them a white man entered the store and asked the clerk to assist him at the cooler.
“When she approached him, he began assaulting and stabbing her,” according to a KPD news release. “The suspect then ran behind the counter, taking several cartons of Newport cigarettes and fled the store on foot.”
The 49-year-old victim was transported to Metroplex Hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Police said the suspect is a white man in his mid- to late 20s, between 5-foot-8 and 6 feet tall, and weighs approximately 180 to 210 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a black beanie cap, black T-shirt with a large football helmet emblem and “DALLAS” across the bottom of the shirt. He was wearing blue jeans and black-and-white tennis shoes.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-8477.
