BELTON — Police recovered a small arsenal of weapons from the truck of a man accused of threatening to shoot his wife.

Patrick Fletcher Halley, 29, was indicted Wednesday by a Bell County grand jury on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Halley was arrested Jan. 18 after police were dispatched to a home in the 900 block of Gary Loop just after 9:15 p.m. in reference to a report of an armed person, according to an arrest affidavit.

When they arrived, Halley’s wife told officers that she and her husband, who were separated, got into an argument in the driveway of the home. During the argument, she said Halley retrieved a gun from his truck. She said she heard a weapon being cocked, then Halley came around, and pointed the gun at her and another at the scene.

Police detained Halley and searched his truck. They recovered multiple guns including a 9 mm handgun, a .45-caliber handgun, a 12-gauge shotgun and a .22-caliber rifle.

According to information from the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, police also found ammunition in the truck. They could not confirm if any of the weapons were loaded.
