A Killeen man is behind bars after police said he threatened his wife with a knife.

Neal Bernard Miller, 40, was arraigned Sunday on a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

Police went to a residence in Killeen on Sunday after getting a report of a family violence incident involving a knife.

Miller’s wife told police he grabbed her by the throat and “pulled” a knife toward her. She pulled away from him and was able to call 911, according to an arrest affidavit. Officers found Miller in the back bedroom. He was sitting on a bed with his arms crossed, and officers said they saw a knife in his hand.

Miller threw the knife down on the bed and attempted to resist an officer’s attempts to handcuff him.

Miller was detained after police used a Taser to get him to comply, the affidavit stated.

Miller is in Bell County Jail. Cooke set his bail at $100,000.
