A man was in critical condition Thursday after being shot in the chest during an argument, Killeen police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said in a news release.

The man was not identified; he was airlifted to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

Police responded at 12:40 p.m. to a disturbance in the parking lot at 302 Wolf St. Witnesses told police they saw two black males in a verbal argument that escalated when a suspect produced a firearm and fired, the release said.

Police are investigating the incident as an aggravated assault, and are looking for the suspect, described as a thin black male in his 30s, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet tall, with short hair and some facial hair.

The suspect fled in a gray or silver Chrysler 300 or similar style vehicle, police said.

again with aggravated assault. If a person is stabbed or shot in the chest and they have to be airlifted; why isn't that attempted murder?

I have been getting my house ready to sell just to get out of this town. It's just full of thugs and I don't feel a bit safe...especially if I have to drive north of 190. The entire town is becoming The Hood.
