The man suspected of shooting and killing a Killeen woman late Saturday night on Stallion Drive was found in Del Rio with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

Ofelia Miramontez, a Killeen Police Department spokeswoman, said just after midnight Monday, the Del Rio Police Department found Franklin Rafael Aguilar, 39, of Killeen, sitting in his vehicle in a McDonald’s parking lot in Del Rio with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Miramontez said upon learning who the man was, the Del Rio Police Department contacted the Killeen Police Department to confirm he was the suspect in the fatal shooting of Christina Yvette McDaniel late Saturday night in the 4000 block of Stallion Drive in Killeen.

Miramontez said Aguilar was transported to the Val Verde Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Aguilar allegedly shot and killed McDaniel following an argument.

Police responded to the scene about 11:45 p.m. Saturday and found McDaniel lying on the ground, unconscious and not breathing, with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was pronounced dead at the scene about 40 minutes later by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

Miramontez said Aguilar fled the area following the shooting.
