An employee assaulted during a robbery at a Killeen bakery was released from the hospital, police said Thursday.

A man entered Sweet Eats Bakery in the 1000 block of West Jasper Road on Wednesday and demanded money. The man assaulted the employee before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, said police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez.

He was taken into custody Wednesday. As of Thursday, police had not released the accused robber’s name.

The robbery occurred at about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday and a man was arrested at about 10:20 a.m. that day, Miramontez said. The victim was released from the hospital Wednesday.
