A Bell County crime task force seized a half pound of methamphetamine in the raid of a Bell County home occupied by two suspected drug dealers.

The Bell County Organized Crime Unit, along with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, Belton Police Department and the Bell County Sheriff's Office arrested 65-year-old Reynaldo Rodriguez and 39-year-old Stephanie Rodriguez Tuesday evening.

The two were apprehended at a home in the 4200 block of Orchard Hill Drive southwest of Belton near Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

Harker Heights Police Department Sgt. Jerry Dugger, commander of the organized crime task force, said the arrests resulted from a months-long investigation that targeted the elder Rodriguez, who is known on the street at "Godfather."

Police believe Rodriguez supplied methamphetamine to drug dealers throughout Bell County. Dugger characterized Rodriguez as a "mid-level dealer."

The estimated street value of methamphetamine seized is $22,000, Dugger said.

In a statement, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Texas Robert Almonte said the arrests show the marshals commitment to assisting local law enforcement agencies.

"Deputy marshals and members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force will continue to work diligently with their law enforcement partners to arrest fugitives from justice as well as those engaged in organized crime in our communities," Almonte said.

Both suspects remained in Bell County Jail Thursday night. They are being held without bond.
