Three more people were arrested in connection with the death of 38-year-old Rocky Wayne Marsh, who was killed Tuesday at Morgan Manor Apartments, Killeen police said in a news release late Friday.
James Tyshawn Pinkard, 21, of Killeen, and Erica Lane Brownlee, 21, of Houston, were arrested and charged with murder after a joint Killeen Police Department-Texas Rangers investigation.
Bonds were set at $1 million apiece by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.
Pinkard was arrested in the 2000 block of Shoemaker Drive without incident and taken to the Killeen City Jail. Brownlee was already there on an unrelated charge.
Shamar Lamar Lewis, 17, of Killeen, was arrested Thursday. He was in the Killeen City Jail and formally charged. His bond also was set at $1 million.
A fourth suspect, a juvenile, was not identified by police and was taken to the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center.
Complaints were issued by the Bell County district attorney against the three adults, but not the juvenile, the release stated.
Police identified Marsh as the victim Friday.
Officers responded to the 1500 block of Bundrant Drive at 8:08 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call regarding a robbery, police previously said.
When police arrived, they found a man lying on the ground, unconscious and not breathing. They immediately began performing CPR until paramedics arrived.
Marsh was taken to Seton Medical Center-Harker Heights, where he was pronounced dead by Cooke at 10:07 p.m. An autopsy was ordered.
Preliminary information received by officers indicated the victim was in the apartment’s parking lot, when he was approached by three or four people, according to a release.
During a verbal altercation, the suspects robbed the victim and brutally attacked him, causing multiple injuries. The suspects then fled in an unknown vehicle.
According to an obituary, Marsh was a father of three, a chef and worked most of his life in the food industry.
An employee of Outback Steakhouse in Killeen confirmed Marsh was employed there.
Marsh was born in San Antonio, and several family members are from the San Antonio area.
Visitation for Marsh will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton. Services will be in San Antonio at a later date.
