Killeen police arrested two men they believe burglarized a neighbor’s home to steal and sell electronics.

Authorities charged Cameron Jerami Fleming, 20, and Coby Juanyae Carlton, 18, with burglary of a habitation. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned the two suspects Thursday, setting their bonds at $50,000 each.

Police arrested Fleming and Carlton on Tuesday after receiving a call of a burglary in progress in the 1800 block of Stardust Street in northeast Killeen.

An officer arrived to the area of the reported burglary about 10 a.m. Tuesday and saw two women pointing at the front of a home, where the officer could see a man dressed in dark clothing walking out the front door.

The officer detained the men, who identified himself as Fleming. Fleming told the officer a friend of his was inside the home, according to an arrest affidavit.

The officer entered the home and found Carlton, who said he was a resident of the home. Carlton gave police permission to search the home, and officers found a large television covered with a blanket and a sack full of video games and other items, the affidavit stated.

When officers checked the serial number of the television, it matched one from a home taken two doors down.

Fleming then admitted he helped Carlton remove the television from the neighbor’s home. They had agreed they would sell it and split the money, the affidavit stated.

A witness to the burglary identified Carlton as the man he saw leaving the burglarized residence with two bags full of items. Carlton admitted to breaking into the home through a window, the affidavit stated.

In an unrelated case, Cooke also arraigned Glen Lewis, 48, on a charge of possession of cocaine, less than 1 gram. Lewis’ bond was set at $20,000.
