COPPERAS COVE — Information from witnesses helped police arrest two men suspected of stealing a camera.
Justice of the Peace Bill Price arraigned Dashawn Dominique Anderson and Willie Albert Germany Beard on Wednesday on charges of burglary of a habitation. Price set both their bonds at $25,000.
According to an arrest complaint, a witness in the 200 block of East Reagan Drive told police they saw two people looking into the windows of a house on the block.
Police arrived at the house and didn’t notice any individuals matching the description given by the witness.
Ten minutes after the first call, a second caller reported the same two men were seen leaving a home in the same block with a black-and-silver case.
When police arrived at the second location, they talked to the witness before knocking on another neighbor’s door, stated the complaint. Police told the resident why they were there and asked if anyone else was in the apartment and if they could enter.
When the residents allowed police into the home, the officers noticed a black-and-silver case and clothing the witnesses described, stated the complaint.
Through interviews with the four people inside the residence, police discovered the clothing allegedly belonged to Anderson and that Anderson and Beard reportedly arrived at the home just before the police, stated the complaint.
In the black-and-silver case was a camera, which was reported stolen later that day.
