Killeen police arrested two teenagers who they believe broke into a home and stole a television.

Police charged Diantis Lynn Roberts and Brodrick Jarod Hill, both 18, with burglary of a habitation.

Officers arrested the two after receiving a call of suspicious activity in the 4400 block of Deek Drive on Thursday. The report stated two men were wheeling a flat-screen television down the street on a dolly.

When officers arrived, they found that one of the men, Hill, had an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and taken to jail, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police then questioned Roberts about the television. When the officer told Roberts he could leave with the television, Roberts said he did not want it.

The officer then asked him to sign a release of property form so police could take the television. As Roberts stood to retrieve the form, a plastic baggy containing a green leafy substance fell to the ground, the affidavit stated.

The substance field-tested positive as marijuana, and Roberts was arrested.

At the jail, Hill told police Roberts and he worked together to burglarize a home. Hill said other stolen items were at his mother’s house. Police later retrieved them, the affidavit stated.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Hill, setting his bail at $54,000 for the burglary charge and a motion to revoke probation on an evading arrest conviction. Roberts’ bail was set at $53,000 for the burglary charge and a charge of possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces.

Cooke also arraigned Adrian Pete Hammonds, 38, on an unrelated charge of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Hammonds’ bail was set at $50,000.
