CRIME

Two 34-year-old women were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on Thursday and charged with robbery, according to an arrest affidavit.

Lynsie Ann Mondina and Geneva Madrid took a .40-caliber handgun and two purses from a person at Amco Hotel & Suites in the 400 block of South Fort Hood Street, according to police.

Madrid also hit the owner of the handgun in the head with it, according to the affidavit.

An officer said she spoke with Mondina, and Mondina told police she did rob the suspect, according to police.

An officer later got permission to search Madrid’s room at the hotel, and found the two purses in a clothes basket on the floor. The handgun was also found after video from the hotel showed Mondina and Madrid walking together with the purses in hand on the north side of the hotel, according to the affidavit.

The women were held on $100,000 bond each.

Arraigned in unrelated cases were:

Robert Alexander Davis on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Eric Wayne Dantzker on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Guillermo Rosario Mercado, 37, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Dejesus Narvaez Nelson on a charge of evading arrest with a motor vehicle.
