A hotel guest who extended his stay against the manager’s wishes was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke over the weekend.

Vanza Lee Midgette, 51, was arrested Thursday by Killeen police on a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Police arrived at the Amco Inn and Suites in regards to a criminal trespassing call Thursday. When they arrived at the room specified in the call, they found drug paraphernalia “in plain view,” including a crack pipe and a clear plastic bag filled with a white powder substance, police said. An officer brought Midgette outside of the room and placed the items on a night stand before going back to his car to grab a drug testing kit, according to the affidavit.

When the officer returned from his car, he saw that Midgette was no longer outside the room, police said. When inside the room, the officer saw Midgette inside, and the items were no longer on the night stand, according to the affidavit. Midgette said he flushed the items. The officer then noticed the bathroom toilet was running, according to the affidavit.

Midgette is being held in the Bell County Jail. Bond was set at $20,000.

Where is this amco hotel at. Omg its like every day two or three tmes, cops are called out to ths place. Why has this city not shut this hotel down? Any other city would have closed it down and taken the property. Ask yourself, do you want a place like this in your community that has had, shootings, drug dealing, pimps and hookers in your town?
I wonder who owns this hotel and who and why they are letting this place stay open.
