COPPERAS COVE — Police arrested a woman suspected of driving while intoxicated with a 6-year-old child in the car.
Justice of the Peace John Guinn arraigned Pamela Renee Coan on Tuesday on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. Guinn set her bond at $10,000.
According to the arrest affidavit, officers noticed a 2009 Dodge Durango swerving in the 2400 block of East U.S. Highway 190 about 8:40 p.m. Monday.
When officers stopped the vehicle in the 300 block of East Avenue E, they allegedly discovered Coan as the driver and a 6-year-old boy in the rear passenger seat, stated the affidavit.
An officer also noticed a strong odor consistent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages coming from Coan’s breath, and asked her how many drinks she had.
“About three shots,” Coan allegedly said, and later admitted she drank vodka.
Coan allegedly performed poorly during a field sobriety test and was taken to Metroplex Hospital for a blood sample, the affidavit stated.
