Killeen police arrested a 22-year-old woman who they said fled from police in a car and on foot because of an active warrant.

Princess Denise Jackson was charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke arraigned Jackson on Friday, setting her bail at $20,000.

Her arrest stems from an attempted traffic stop near the area of Trimmier Road and Duval Drive.

According to an arrest affidavit, a police officer attempted to stop Jackson’s vehicle, but she did not stop. The officer lost sight of her car, but soon spotted a car of the same make, model and color parked on the side of the road.

The car had backed into another car behind it and was still running in reverse.

A woman nearby then notified police she had just seen a female run through her backyard and jump her fence, the affidavit stated. Inside the car, an officer located a purse containing Jackson’s driver’s license. Another officer in the area located a woman matching the driver’s description. The woman, later identified as Jackson, was out of breath and had scratches to her legs.

Also arraigned Friday in an unrelated incident was Daniel Jordan Larue-Bates, 25, on a charge of possession of cocaine, less than 1 gram. Cooke set Larue-Bates bond at $20,000.
