COPPERAS COVE — Police on Thursday arrested a woman suspected of violating a North Carolina probation for an arson charge. Justice of the Peace John Guinn arraigned Morna Colleen Williams on Friday on a charge of fugitive from justice. Guinn did not assign bond since Williams will be extradited to North Carolina.

Police said they arrested Williams during a Child Protective Services assistance call at 3:06 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of South Third Street.

On scene, police did a warrant check on Williams and the North Carolina warrant appeared. It was issued Aug. 2.

In an unrelated incident, Guinn arraigned Emily Faye Pearce on Friday on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. Faye’s bond was set at $10,000.
