COPPERS COVE — Police arrested a woman for driving while intoxicated with a 1-year-old child in the car on Tuesday morning. Police originally stopped her for no license plate light.

Justice of the Peace Bill Price arraigned Briana Eve Sesler, 23, on Tuesday on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. Price set her bond at $5,000, but she was not in Coryell County Jail.

At about 2:30 a.m., an officer noticed a black 2003 Dodge Intrepid traveling down South Main Street lacking a working license plate light, the arrest complaint stated. When an officer stopped the vehicle, she allegedly noticed a small child in the car and smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver, Sesler.

The officer asked Sesler if she had been drinking, and Sesler said she had. Sesler performed poorly on a field sobriety test and was arrested by the officer, the complaint stated.
