A 25-year-old woman is facing an assault charge after she attacked a police officer, according to police reports.
Shanice Marie Hooker was arraigned Monday by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on a charge of assault of a public servant, a third-degree felony.
According to an arrest affidavit, Hooker assaulted a female officer conducting a search of her person Sunday while Hooker was being booked into the Killeen City Jail.
The affidavit said Hooker was “combative” and grabbed the officer’s hand and was “digging her nails” into it. The officer said she felt pain, and she was bleeding. She also had a red laceration on her hand.
Cooke set Hooker’s bail at $100,000.
Cooke also arraigned the following individuals on unrelated charges Monday:
Jacob Anthony Godwin Icmat, 18, on a charge of sexual assault. Icmat’s bail was set at $50,000.
Markeise Tyrell Cruz, 24, on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, 4 grams or more, but less than 200 grams. Cruz’s bail was set at $50,000.
