BELTON — A Killeen woman accused of bludgeoning an 80-year-old blind man to death in October appeared in Bell County Court on Friday morning.

Christian Charlene Bohannon, 25, was arraigned Friday on a charge of capital murder in connection with the death of Jack B. Ray.

Ray’s body was found Oct. 12, by Killeen Fire Department medics in the backyard of his home on Farm-to-Market 439. According to an arrest affidavit, Bohannon told investigators she planned to steal items from Ray’s home, and then hit him with a golf club while she was attempting to rob him.

Bohannon did not enter a plea to the charges Friday. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 11, according to court records.
