COPPERAS COVE — Police arrested a woman suspected of driving with more than twice the blood-alcohol content legal limit and with a child passenger.
Justice of the Peace Bill Price arraigned Nicolette Victoria Reece on Tuesday on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years old. Price set her bail at $5,000, and she wasn’t taken to Coryell County Jail.
Police stopped Reece on May 27 at City Park when an officer smelled an odor generally associated with drinking alcohol coming from her person, stated the arrest affidavit. Before being stopped, a 13-year-old boy was riding in the passenger seat of her car.
The police gave Reece a sobriety test that she failed, according to the affidavit. Once detained, she was taken to the driving while intoxicated room at the Copperas Cove police station, where she failed to perform any task given to her. She reportedly fell and hit her head on the floor.
Reece was then transported to Metroplex Hospital where blood drawn showed she had 0.167 grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. The legal limit is 0.08 milliliters.
