Woman faces capital murder charge in elderly man's death

BELTON - A Killeen woman is facing capital murder charges in the 2013 case of an 83-year-old blind man who was beaten to death in his home.

A Bell County grand jury indicted Christian Charlene Bohannon, 25, of Killeen, on a charge of capital murder Wednesday in connection with the October 2013 death of Jack B. Ray.

Ray’s body was found in the backyard of his home on Farm-to-Market 439, severely beaten. According to an arrest affidavit, Bohannon told investigators she planned to steal items from Ray's home, and hit him with a golf club while she attempted rob him.

If convicted, Bohannon could face the death penalty.
