BELTON — A Bell County grand jury Wednesday indicted a 28-year-old Killeen woman who nearly ran over a man attempting to repossess her Crown Victoria.

Rhonda Lynette Denmark was indicted on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The assault charge stems from a Nov. 30 incident in a parking lot near the intersection of 10th and Church streets near downtown Killeen.

A tow truck driver was under Denmark’s 2000 Crown Victoria hooking cables to the undercarriage when she confronted him, according to an arrest affidavit.

She told the tow truck driver he could not take her car. He responded that he was only doing his job.

While he was in the bed of his truck and under the car, Denmark got into her car and started the engine. She then placed the car in reverse and nearly ran over the tow truck driver, the affidavit stated.

The man had to quickly remove himself from under the car in order to avoid being hit. Denmark then hit a building several times while attempting to drive away from the scene, the affidavit stated.

Police arrested Denmark during a traffic stop on April 8. Police found her in possession of a small revolver, the affidavit stated.

Denamrk is prohibited from possessing a firearm because of a previous felony conviction of possession of a controlled substance in 2010.
