Two women were taken to local hospital Monday night following an alleged assault on Lakecrest Drive in which one woman suffered multiple stab wounds.
The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. Monday at a home in the 3700 block of Lakecrest Drive.
The resident of the home, a 21-year-old woman, was in her garage when a group of three or four individuals people approached her. A verbal argument began, which turned violent, Killeen police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.
The argument centered around the two women who were later treated for injuries. “I guess there was a history between them,” Smith said.
The resident sustained injuries Smith described as “bumps and bruises.” She was taken to Seton Hospital in Harker Heights with non-life threatening injuries.
The other female involved was taken to Metroplex Hospital with lacerations to her arms and abdomen and later airlifted to Scott & White Hospital in stable but serious condition.
The individuals who approached the resident were gone by the time police arrived. Police have not yet detained anyone or filed any charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
