CRIME

Two men were arraigned on a charge of burglary of a habitation with the intent to commit theft Tuesday by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown.

Christopher Wayne Cook III, 17, and Joshua Lazard, 18, were arrested Nov. 2 by Killeen police after officers recovered a stolen Xbox from a local pawn shop, according to an arrest affidavit.

On Aug. 19, Killeen police answered a burglary call at a home on West Libra Street. While speaking with the owner, they learned that someone entered the home and stole an Xbox and vape smoking machine, according to the affidavit.

When police checked the inventory at a local pawn shop, they saw the Xbox had been sold to the shop by Cook, who signed a pawn ticket, according to the affidavit.

During an interview, Cook told police he and Lazard entered the home through a back door, police said.

Lazard also told police he and Cook stole the Xbox and sold it, according to police.

Both Lazard and Cook are held in the Bell County Jail on $70,000 bond.

In an unrelated case, Jordan Nicole Parks, 17, was arraigned on one charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle, and another charge of evading arrest with a vehicle. She is held in the Bell County Jail on $35,000 bond.
