CRIME

A man was arraigned Friday by Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown on a charge of possession of marijuana, more than 4 ounces.

Dalvante Kejuan Darr, 19, was arrested after he was pulled over by a Killeen police officer Thursday. The officer smelled marijuana, according to the affidavit for arrest, and Darr then told him there was marijuana in the car.

The officer found 5.7 ounces of suspected marijuana, according to the affidavit.

While the officer brought Darr to jail, Darr told him that the marijuana was all his even though it was in the passenger’s purse, police said.

The marijuana tested positive with a field test kit, according to the affidavit.

Darr was being held in the Bell County Jail on $30,000 bond.

In an unrelated case, Larry Dapre Edwards II was arraigned by Brown on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram.

He was being held in the Bell County Jail on $30,000 bond.
