Central Texas College is inviting the public to learn more about education in the 21st century, as it commemorates National Distance Learning Week Nov. 12-15.

The college will host a variety of online activities on the CTC Distance Education website, www.online.ctcd.edu, to celebrate distance learning and educate the general public on the future of learning, according to a news release.

The public is invited to learn how distance education can help achieve educational goals and become familiar with the services available to the distance learners at the college.

For students and the public, CTC will host online scavenger hunts and trivia challenges for prizes.

Several of the college’s educational departments will host webinars and workshops on ways to succeed in online courses.

The college will a host a webinar featuring the chief executive officer and president of BioSig, CTC’s new student identity proofing vendor for proctored tests; the Blackboard Collaborate; student engagement in online classes; discussion boards; blogs and wikis; and trends in education.

More activities for both students and faculty will be offered during the week. For events and information Tuesday through Friday, go to www.online.ctcd.edu.
