Central Texas College plans to commemorate World AIDS Day with a special event Monday at its Killeen campus.

The event will feature representatives from Darnall Army Medical Center and Central Texas Support Services providing prevention information and free HIV testing to students.

Darnall staff will bring a quilt honoring local residents who died due to HIV/AIDS. Students will have the opportunity to add their own “panels” to the quilt.

This year’s event is free and open to the public.

It will take place at the college’s Anderson Campus Center from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
