Killeen police Thursday determined the Dec. 18 death of a woman inside her home on Taft Street was a suicide.

Police found 56-year-old Robin Ann Hetherington dead in her home, which had been damaged by a fire.

Investigators found evidence that led them to believe gasoline had been poured in the home and intentionally ignited. Police have found no evidence of foul play, police spokeswoman Carroll Smith said.

While on patrol on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, officers heard a home alarm and drove to the source.

When police approached the home, they looked through an open window and saw a woman lying on the floor. They then entered the home and found Hetherington deceased.

Smith said Hetherington had a history of threatening suicide.

An autopsy report has not been completed.
