Active duty military personnel will once again be able to apply for tuition assistance to pay for their education.

The Army announced Friday that tuition assistance for classes that start on or after Oct. 17 will be honored. Soldiers with approved tuition assistance requests for classes with a start date on or after Oct. 17 can attend their classes.

The program was suspended Oct. 1 due to the partial federal government shutdown. The suspension caused military students at Central Texas College's world-wide campuses to miss out on enrolling in some courses and will cost the college between $2 million and $3 million in revenue, according to CTC officials.
