Members of the Copperas Cove Independent School District's Board of Trustees met this morning to take a first look at preliminary site plans for a career and technical education campus.

The board was presented a number of possible designs for the campus, which will likely be located at a complex of buildings on Avenue E. If approved, the facility will offer students the opportunity to take courses and earn certificates in career areas such as automotive technology, culinary arts and health sciences.

The preliminary plans include renovation of current Avenue E facilities, some of which were built in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as new construction. Preliminary estimates for the first phase of the construction and renovation are just over $3.7 million.
