DECA members from Copperas Cove High School competed Feb. 21-22 at the state contest in Dallas.

Copperas Cove High School’s DECA chapter competed at the state level in Dallas on Feb. 21-22. There were about 2,500 students competing. The following students “made stage” in their events by placing first or second in their category. Those students that placed first in their event advanced to Internationals, and will be competing in May.

“I am very proud of all of the students that competed,” said Charlotte Heinze, CCHS DECA adviser and marketing education coordinator. “They were all on their best behavior and worked very hard.”

Community Service Project Chapter Team: Shaylah Conley, Bashan Swain, Meechelle Abram, first place.

Business Services Operations Research: Mathew Larsen, Lexi Frazey, Corey Jorgenson, first place.

Public Relations Project Chapter Team: Kari McCullough, Tanner Scofield, Taylor Loe, first place.

Learn and Earn Project Chapter Team: Abigail McPhail, Jennifer Kloesel, Brendon Thompson, first place.

Entrepreneurship Promotion Project Chapter Team: Austin Abbey, Michael Nisle, Daliana Soto, first place.

Entrepreneurship Growing Your Business, Business Management & Entrepreneurship: Cody Gochie-Amaro, Dylan Gochie-Amaro, Benjamin Meyer, first place.

MET Food Marketing Branding: Hunter Yauch, first place.

Sports &Entertainment Marketing Operations Research: Carlee Duran, Andrew Leuthner, Gabriel Perez, second place.

Financial Literacy Promotion Project Chapter Team: Jaylaan Blake-Thames and Hunter Yauch, second place.

Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan Business Management & Entrepreneurship: Alexus Blake, Alexa Jackson, Destinee’ Toleafoa, second place.
