Basic Bookkeeping: Students will gain a basic understanding of reports such as balance statements and profit-and-loss statements. The course also covers reconciliations, assets, liabilities, cost of goods, expenses, journal entries and payroll issues. The class meets from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 6 and Oct. 13. The cost is $45.

Beginning Knitting and Crocheting: Learn the basics of continental style-knitting and crocheting, including stitches such as cast-on, knit and purl for knitting and chain, single, half-double and double for crochet. Participants will complete a small project. A list of supplies will be provided. The class is Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 9-25, from 6 to 8 p.m. the cost is $39.
