Students from Central Texas College gathered at the Bell County Expo Center on Friday evening for the first CTC fall graduation ceremony.

More than 270 earned associate degrees or certificates of completion.

Students who earned enough credits to graduate after the fall semester previously had to wait until spring, according to CTC chancellor Jim Yeonopolus.

“Now we offer them the opportunity to be recognized for their academic achievement in a more timely manner,” he said.

Among the speakers at the ceremony was the Rev. Jimmy Towers of LifeWay Fellowship in Killeen, who gave the commencement address.

In addition to local civilian and active-duty military graduates, some students traveled from Arkansas, Arizona, California, Georgia, North Carolina and Oklahoma for the ceremony.
