The Killeen Evening Rotary Club recently announced its annual student awards to Killeen ISD Career Center students. These students will receive about $500 worth of tools or supplies to help them pursue their career training.

Here are the award winners:

  • Kayla Goralewicz, Cosmetology, Harker Heights High
  • Steven Stinehour, Automotive Technology, Killeen High
  • Jesus Fernandez, Welding, Ellison
  • Ashley Lopez, Veterinary Medical Assistant, Killeen High
  • Christina Rominger, Health Science EMT, Ellison
  • Megan McMahon, Advanced Commercial Photography, Ellison

Carol Francis, CTE counselor, praised the club for its longtime support of the career and technology students.

She said in past years the students have used the award money to purchase protective gear, tools, hair shears and a variety of mechanical implements to pursue their trades. Some students, she said, use their career certification to work while attending college courses.

Students submit an application and submit to interviews to apply for the award.
