A Killeen Independent School District administrator is leaving the central office for the halls of Killeen High School next year.

Susan Buckley was selected to serve as the principal at Killeen High School for the 2013-2014 school year, according to a statement from the district released Friday. Buckley currently works as the district’s director of secondary curriculum and professional development.

Buckley has 20 years of experience in education, including teaching high school business and serving as a student activities director, high school curriculum director and an elementary school principal.

Michael Sibberson worked as the principal of Killeen High School for 11 years before leaving to take a position as superintendent of the Hawley Independent School District.

In addition to Buckley, the district announced new principals for Timber Ridge Elementary School and Manor Middle School.

Julie Crabtree was named principal of Timber Ridge Elementary School. Crabtree previously worked in the Dallas Independent School District, where she was principal of Titche Elementary School, a campus of more than 900 students. She also has experience working as a middle school math teacher, a campus instructional specialist, a district math specialist and an associate principal.

Jennifer Washington was named as the principal for Manor Middle School. Washington served as the Killeen district’s director of student, district and community relations prior to being named principal. She also worked as an assistant principal, high school associate principal and middle school principal.

“The Killeen Independent School District is very excited to introduce three very strong and dynamic leaders who will work hard to ensure their respective campuses continue to achieve high expectations and foster the pursuit of academic excellence in an effort to ensure students continued success,” said John Craft, the district’s deputy superintendent.
