Public school districts in Killeen and Copperas Cove both met state standards set by the Texas Education Agency's new accountability rating system.

The agency released the 2013 state accountability system ratings for more than 1,200 school districts and charters in Texas this afternoon.

Under the new rating system, districts, campuses and charters receive one of three ratings: met standard; met alternative standard; or improvement required.

Both the Killeen and Copperas Cove Districts received a district-wide rating of "met standard," according to the data released by the agency.

The ratings reveal that almost 93 percent of school districts and charter schools across Texas have achieved the rating of met standard.
