LAMPASAS — Lampasas school district officials are asking parents to complete an online needs assessment, so the district can better serve families.

“It’s something most districts do as part of a comprehensive needs assessment, and it applies towards outlining the district and campus goals,” Assistant Superintendent Nancy Yeary said. “The survey is voluntary but vital in helping us determine how our district is doing.”

The survey, available through the district’s website until May 1, was offered online last year. The district has paper copies and laptop computers for survey takers at the district’s five campuses.

Parents are asked to complete one survey for each campus where their children are enrolled.

“We have done this for about three years, and we are really seeking the parent’s constructive comments and feedback,” Yeary said.

The form lists 30 questions involving academics, safety, technology, transportation, food service, school climate, school funding, teacher performance, and parent and community involvement within the school system.

“Our goal is to improve the school’s performance and customer service,” Yeary said. “There are all kinds of statistical and testing data to tell us how our schools are doing, and we want the parents to help us give the strong, educational background we need to provide.”
